This restaurant provided excellent service during a recent family gathering following a funeral. With little notice, they were able to accommodate a large group in a private setting, which made the experience more comfortable for everyone involved. The food and drinks were enjoyable, and while the group ordered from the menu, they also had the option of a buffet featuring menudo and a variety of platters. The family expressed satisfaction with the overall experience and plans to return to try the buffet in the future. Additionally, the restaurant hosts karaoke on Fridays, making it a potential new venue for future family gatherings.

So I'm been coming to Puerta Azul for so many years . I can't even recall the exact year maybe 2005 anyhow always amazing food great service , clean restaurants and bathroom. I decided to have the pozole . It was so amazing tase was so delicious not spicy just right it's hard to find the best pozole . Can't what for the winter will be returning for sure many times .!

Ordered some food to go, and already felt great due to friendly and timely service. When I got home and ate the food was so yummy and comforting! Thumbs up for sure!!

I have been visiting Puerto Azul for the past 18 years and I love it. This is one of my favorite places because is clean, beautiful, service is excellent and food is delicious. I just visit again today and bring my mother to celebrate her birthday. We love the food and Eduardo like always was very kind and friendly like every time. I strongly recommend this place to everyone.

Fantastic people work here. My go-to spot for that Mexican food craving. The food is good and the drinks are tasty. I recommend this spot for a good, well-rounded experience.

My first time having Mole Malcajete & it didn't disappoint! Just the one Malcajete fed 3 of us & we were all so full & satisfied. Our server was super nice, he was the one who recommended the Mole Malcajete & reassured my boyfriend (who is Mexican & very picky about his Mole) that he wouldn't be disappointed, & he wasn't! We all got Palomas to drink & the alcohol to juice ratio was perfect. On that particular day it was cold & rainy in San Jose, the restaurant had all the windows & front door open & it made the restaurant very cold. I'm sure on a neutral weather day it would make the ambiance of the restaurant very enjoyable!

IMHO Haven't been here in four years and I'm so glad I made it back! Our first restaurant choice didn't open for lunch (new pandemic hours) so we yelped other Willow Glen options. My friend had always driven by Puerto Azul and noticed how busy and lively it seemed. This piqued her interest, so this was her chance to try it out! I ordered the Enchiladas Regulares, $14.99, two enchiladas filled with my choice of beef, chicken or cheese, (always cheese for me!) and served with rice, beans, and a little bit of green salad. My friend ordered a la carte; two beef flautas, $6.99, and one mole chicken enchilada, $6.99. Plates came out piping hot! In my first review 4 years ago, I complained that my plate and food came out warm. Not today! And not only was my food beautiful to behold, but it was oh-so-tasty and delicious from the very first bite! The chips were freshly fried and crispy and the salsa hot and spicy! Service was very friendly and accommodating. Yes, I look forward to returning again soon!
